The weather continues to be awesome! Sunny and hot, with a hint of a breeze to keep us from overheating.  Scores were higher than last week, but, this is, in my opinion anyway, the more difficult of the 3 nines.

Three matches went 6 ˝ - 2 ˝.    Starting with Mike Murphy shooting 5 better than his handicap, including a par net eagle on the 26th hole, on his way to defeating Marty.  That net eagle also won him the MoneyBall prize as the #8 ball was the first ball drawn.  Tim has your winnings Mike.  Nice round!  Next up was Bob, returning from a week off with a bounce-back round, also 5 strokes better than HIS handicap, and a 5-0 run over the final 5 holes to take his match against Scoop. Great round Bob!  Meanwhile, Mike Fusco and Andy had a contest to see who could shoot the worst, as both played over their handicaps, and tied 5 holes.  The holes that weren’t tied though, went to Andy to assure the win. It was a rough night Mike, let’s shake it off before next week!

Dan, Mark and Jim were next up in the win category, prevailing over their respective opponents: Tim, Brian and Dan Richardson, 6-3. All three shooting below their handicaps in the process.  This marked the first win of the season for Mark, who also managed the only par on the lengthy uphill par-3  6th hole.  Well done Mark!  Similar to Bob, Dan and Jim also had bounce-back rounds out there, shooting a combined 14 strokes better than the previous week.  Nice recovery gents!

Tom and Gloria tied 5 holes and split the bonus point on the way to Tom’s 5 ˝ - 3 ˝ win.  The key to Tom’s win was getting out to an early 3-up lead, and then allowing Gloria only 1 full point, Chalk up another one for Tommy!

In her return to play from injured reserve, Bette pulled out a 5-4 win over Matt in a back-and-forth slug-fest that saw the lead change on every hole.  Looks like a fun match!

With this win, Bette reclaimed the top spot here, followed by Tom moving up to 2nd while nudging Marty down into 3rd place. Dave fell to 4th from 3rd, while Jim moved up from 7th to 5th, as Gloria fell out of the top-5 into 6th place.  Week 10 is approaching, so, get ready to start throwing out those low scores.

I have been remiss in not reporting that Mark continues to be “other-less” this season.  Keep it up Mark!
